Benedetto Boschetti was an Italian sculptor active between circa 1820-1879. Boschetti had a workshop on the via Condotti and specialised in bronze reductions of well-known sculptures in addition to various other sculptural objects, classically inspired, such as marble, candelabra, a mosaic table in the Gilbert Collection, held within the V&A and an excellent copy of the Warwick Vase carved in rosso antico, now in the Toleo Museum, Ohio. Boschetti’s workshop exhibited at the Great Exhibition in London, 1851, where he won a prize medal. He fed the increasing demand for antique works of art and was incredibly popular amongst Grand Tourists.
