Another wonderful large Parisian street scene by the Master Antoine Blanchard illustrating the time forgotten era when walking and taking horse driven carriages along the boulevards was the norm. The sounds of clattering hooves on cobble stone streets and ladies selling flowers along with the smells of food and drink from the Brasseries filling the senses. The pride of dressing up to go out and be seen in front of the Opera Pantheon was a Parisian privilege. 90% of Blanchards are 13×18 inches and this particular painting is 18×21 which is considerably more commanding in a room. This is also a more lit up day scene where more is visible shown by the extra detail put into this painting. I will miss it when it sales.
