this is a larger and rare masterpiece of Barye’s oeuvres d’art standing at 16 inches and 24 inches wide. The savagery of these Scottish hounds are depicted in their intensity of the attack and displayed on the face of the stag that may know his demise. the patina is classic Barye with lots of greens and browns, The rarity of this piece is real as very few have come to market and are almost never available on the retail market. This bronze comes from Christie’s Auctions New York from a serious collector. This bronze will not last. Please also peruse my other important Barye bronzes.
