Christophe Fratin (French, 1801-1864), The Bull, bronze sculpture, signed on base, overall: 6″h x 8″w x 3″d. Christophe Fratin competed alongside Antoine Louis Barye in pioneering and leading the Animalier movement in France in the 1840’s and 1850’s. This bronze bull shows the quality one could expect in a Paris Salon exhibition.
