Description
Early 19th century Empire gilt bronze mantel clock with allegorical scene depicting a young man sitting with a flute in his hand ready to play music. The musician is set above a raised case containing the dial. Very fine chiselling and gilt bronze work with Fairies connected on base. An absolute eye popping decorative mantel or console clock. Clock face reads “Plcs Cleret a Orleans” original keys included.
Function: This clock is functional and has all mechanics inside. It is a silk string pendulum function. It has been cleaned and will need tinkering with to keep good time.
