Dresser, 1933, design for living by Herman Miller Furniture Company, Zeeland, Michigan.

Mahogany and American ash veneer, brushed steel.

38 x 40 x 19 inches (96.5 x 101.6 x 48.3 cm).

From the estate of industrial designer Viktor Schreckengost.

The dresser with bookend veneer and tubular brushed steel handles capped on the ends with wood plugs, consisting of one compartmentalized drawer over a pair of doors, opening to three drawers. Listed in the Herman Miller Company Catalog as #3319.

Provenance:

Purchased from Herman Miller Furniture Company through Allen Brothers Furniture Store, Sebring, Ohio, October 1935.

Condition Report*:

Scratches to the top, missing veneer to the left side of the dresser near the top, oxidation spots throughout the handles, light scuffing to the veneer throughout indicative of age and use. “Image courtesy of Heritage Auctions”
