Description

A rare pair of silver wire cloisonné enameled porcelain vases Signed Dainihon Seizo Shippo Gaisha Kojin Takeuchi Chubei,

Meiji period (late 19th century) Each of bulbous form with tall everted neck, the porcelain body over-enamelled in various colors and decorated in silver wire with wave-design roundels scattered amongst stylized flowers and scrolling foliage, a band of stylized flowers to the foot and a band of abstract design to the rim, the inner rim decorated in underglazed blue with a band of lappets below two circumferential lines. Notice the specks of silver throughout the vase in forms of clouds. A truly stunning pair or Japanese Meiji cloisonné vases.
