KPM Berlin porcelain plaque signed on lower right corner with “R Dittrich”. Der Eremit.
Scene is a near-perfect copy of the Dutch artist and contemporary of Rembrandt, Salomon Koninck who lived in Amsterdam from 1609 to 1656. The original painting by Koninck entitled “Der Eremit” is in the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen (State Art Museum) in Dresden, Germany. This 10 by 8 inch plaque is impressed on the back (see picture) with the KPM or Berlin sceptre and letters. The front, lower right corner has “R Dittrich” (see picture), who was a famous porcelain painter in Dresden during the 19th century. The plaque is professionally mounted and backed in a gold-painted frame, measuring 14 3/4 inch by 13 inch. Plaque in very good condition with no scratches.
Condition. Good. No damage. Wear commensurate of age. 2-3 pits and an area above head of Fine scratches.
