This Han Dynasty pottery dog stands as a silent guardian, molded from the same red clay that gave the Han earth its fire. Nearly two thousand years underground left their mark — mineral deposits crust the surface in earthy blooms, each patch a fingerprint of the tomb it was born to protect. The ears are alert, the stance low and coiled, the kind of dog that never slept on duty. Han tomb guardians weren’t decoration; they were purpose, placed there to ward off what shouldn’t cross the threshold. This one did its job. Now it’s time for a different kind of watch — a shelf, a window, a home where someone will see it every day and remember that even the humblest clay can outlast empires. Thermoluminescence testing accompanies this pet.
