The Immaculate Conception of Los Venerables” is a famous oil painting by the Spanish artist Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, created around 1678. It depicts the Virgin Mary in a celestial setting, surrounded by angels, and represents the Catholic dogma of her being born without original sin. The painting, also known as “The Immaculate Conception of Soult”, was looted by a French general, acquired by the Louvre, and has been part of the Museo del Prado’s collection in Madrid since 1941.
