The oval marble platform supports a bronze sculpture of a French hunting dog, probably a Griffon, Spaniel or pointer hunting in the marshes. The patina is chocolate brown and stunning. The curves and lines are Art Nouveau, Art Deco at its finest. Title engraved to the front ” Au Marais” engraved signature to the front Carvin, foundry mark to the side and also marked on the reverse S352
