Description

A beautifully carved wooden Buddhist spiritual figure with traces of gold gilded leaf. The seated Buddha statue is gazing down with hand clasped in his lap. Traces old ox blood polychrome on robe verso. Compartment for parlayed cutout on back seams glued shut. Wear commensurate of age and use, circa 16th century Ming dynasty.
