Description
Chinese Late Qing dynasty (1886-1912)
This monumentally large and heavy detailed hand carved sculpture of a mother pig and two baby piglets is extraordinary. The facial emotions are almost anthropomorphic especially in momma pig’s fiercely protective eyes and snout curling. The piglets are also showing brave and strong postures. The pigs are situated on a rocky outcrop with carved plants and flowers in the Qing dynasty style with beautiful detail. The outcrop represents a cliff that further shows the bravery of these animals. A truly one of a kind sculpture. The amethyst purple, grays, cream, blacks and blues make a stunning natural pallet! It comes in two pieces; base and top. Make an offer and place this treasure in your home or garden.
