Large And Important Tang Dynasty (618-907AD) Pottery Horse TL Tested.
China. Ca. 618-907 AD
A beautiful pottery figure of a horse. The animal is shown in a standing pose on an integral base. The horse’s neck is turned to the left, with its erect ears, downcast eyes, mouth open, and pronounced nostrils. The tail is depicted docked and bound in the traditional fashion. The saddle is covered with a red cloth draped over and gathered on the sides. The horse’s trappings are completed by an elaborate harness with dangling tassels on the horse’s croup.

TL TEST: This piece has been precisely dated having undergone Thermo Luminescence analysis by Ralf Kotalla, an independent German Laboratory. The samples collected date the piece to the period reflected, whilst also showing no modern trace elements. Its TL certificate with full report will also accompany this item.
