Description
Attributed to Robert Bordman Howard impressionist Barbizon 19th century painting.
Amazing 19th century painting with all the strokes of impressionism of a landscape of trees and a beautiful river. The style is French in the Barbizon manner with hints of California Plain air style.
Robert Bordman Howard: famous for his Art Deco murals studied in Barbizon France in the Impressionist school of painting before he came back to America. Though I cant prove this piece to be his; all the signs point that way. If this had provenance to him directly; it might reach 5 figures in value. It’s just a great impressionist painting to put on the wall!
Signed Howard bottom right.
The Frame is original to the painting and worth the price of the whole package.
